Pros

Compared to pay in the game industry it’s better “Connect days” as day off which can be nice and generous Somewhat of a relaxed stance on working from home Get to see some interesting tech WFH allowances were a nice touch Office offers amenities you’d expect at typical corporate settings

Cons

Despite what people say here, work life balance is a myth to some, especially the conscientious ones who recognizes what bad jobs leads, management and production has done and feel the need to pull in extra hours to rectify those situations Orgs like Accelerate Solution are scrapping the bottom of the barrel for anyone who can code and it’s dis functional, embarrassing. Those orgs are the source of burnout and torture for people who’ve been set up to fail. No meaningful and stable goal setting programs for workers to consistently track their goals and career trajectory. You can’t keep “reinventing” new ways to do these things and “conveniently” discard the progress of previous attempts as “start over” to permanently keep people stuck in the same position and role. This is one of the most toxic management tricks I’ve seen in the past and it flies against the mantra of “empathy, opportunity and respect”. Creative talents are often ignored and not valued because the company views itself as a tech company and is utterly out of touch with creative minded folks who wants to build a career. Absolutely unqualified hiring and unqualified promotions. Some of the hiring were so atrocious they doomed projects and ruin sales. Promotions were given even to individuals who underperforms and wreck havoc on projects. Chaotic mess. You’ll hardly receive any support unless you purposely not do your job and “reach out” via the hundreds of channels to look for help. Response time may vary from channel to channel. It all adds to the daily frustration and the helplessness you will feel on the job while witnessing asymmetrical support others have received. If you work with a European team, expect to see massive difference in productivity. European teams simply do not pull their weight.
