Transparency of Peoria local Leadership and positive culture of the whole work environment. All round fun place to work. It’s great to enjoy going to work. The people are here for the patients. It’s not just a job, it’s a career. Peoria Leadership cares about their employees and patients. Work life balance and wellbeing are taken seriously and accommodated. Pay is also competitive.

Pros
One of the busiest EMS departments in the state. Plenty of high-acuity calls. New facility, new rigs (when working), fully stocked with all equipment needed for an EMS department.
Cons
Toxic work environment. How well you are perceived at doing your job depends on 1) how much you kiss the department head's rear and 2) how the department head's most liked employees - aka: the ones who kiss his rear the most - perceive you, regardless of what you do. The turnover rate for this department is very high due to the mentioned reasons. Known for "pushing out" people that don't follow suit with management. Applies rules unfairly to staff.
