Pros

Universal itself is a fantastic company to work for. Benefits and perks are great and they really seem to care about employees.

Cons

Event Operations is not a great department to work for. Most of the department is seasonal and it takes a very long time to get to part-time/full-time. Hours are all over the place (6am one day, 5pm the next, sometimes with exactly 8 hours between shifts). Team members are often seen by management as cogs in a machine rather than individuals with needs, so it can be very dehumanizing at stressful times.

Pros

Benefits are fantastic for full time employees. 401k, AD&D insurance, Cigna Health, Eye, and RX. Quarterly Ticket Distribution, Great discounts around the resort. Free entry to Seaworld and Busch Gardens. Owned by Comcast so heavily discounted services for cable and internet.

Cons

No matter the "value" of freebies and corporate discounts, the pay is still low. A person cannot afford life on $10 an hour. Not to mention the management will never understand nor care about real issues plaguing the company. There is favoritism from the top down. Most of upper management was hired by their friend above them. When comcast realizes that it's issues stem from the people in charge, they will see a big difference in employee morale. However, this will never happen as the company does not care. It's more concerned with profits and pinching a penny than investing in ways to improve the guest experience. Which by the way are the ones who pay our bills.

there were no pros. didn't enjoy anything about this company. i applied for a full time position and got a part time job.

Cons

very deceiving. was told i would make crazy amount of money. sorry $90 on a friday night closing the bar is not good money. be careful what venue you work at. if you get hard rock then you good. don't work at anything else.
