Pros
Benefits package is good and looked after employees well when Covid struck with extra days off and extra pay. Also guaranteed bonuses even though branches were shut which is awesome!
Cons
A reputable employer would advertise all jobs so those with the appropriate skills can apply for the vacancy. I found that staff were being shoehorned into roles just because they happened to be helping out in a department. There are a lot of managers who can talk the talk but cant walk the walk. I experienced a manager change and the new lady just sat in her room all day and let the staff do their thing. Very fortunate that the staff was used to this and were responsible.... but she got lucky. Managers also seem to have "entitlement syndrome" they seem to think they can come and go as they please under the guise of "working from home because......." Managers need to be highly visible, too often they are missing when needed. A branch manager should be like the captain of a ship, first in, last out and leading from the front. This is a major fault with most of UFCU's retail outlets and needs to be addressed.
