Pros

1. Excellent training program (2-week classroom & 2-week practical experience with mentor). All required information is explained in a clear concise format and each employee receives plenty of practice before being tested. 2. Freedom to work at own pace: Managers trust their employees to stay on task and never look over my shoulder. I keep my boss in the loop of what I am doing and that is sufficient for him. Managers are highly engaged and involved in the process to make our job as seamless as possible and they love hearing and implementing new ideas from employees. 3. Great team: All of my team mates are amazing with diverse professional backgrounds. (Apple, US Army, Wells Fargo) We work in pods and have great communication with one another. If I have a question, I just ask my neighbor and get the help I need. 4. Excellent location, Resources, Perks: Multiple offices in the financial district of San Francisco within 5 mins of BART station. Each employee gets a computer and additional monitors, Zendesk, Talkdesk and OKTA to increase productivity. Fully stocked kitchen and N64 & PS4 to play with during breaks. 5. 8am-5pm: Once 5pm hits, we are expected to leave the office and enjoy the rest of the day. No after-work phone calls or emails, no working after hours! Show up, work your tail off, and go home!

Cons

1. Company just launched so there are growing pains (Tech errors, ambiguity, some confusion). Most of this happens above my level so it has a minimal effect on my job. 2. Not a "chill" job: With freedom comes responsibility. If an employee is not actively seeking new projects or fixing systemic problems, managers will find them work; which takes away time from the manager. To excel in this company, an employee needs to be proactive in tackling challenges before they become problems. You will have multiple projects going on at once!

Pros

This company is great! Upgrade, Inc. is a stealth mode start-up, full of amazing people. The Executive Management team is brilliant; they really value their employees and the ideas that they bring to the table. They are also very approachable, down-to-earth individuals, which is what makes this company different. You aren't made to feel intimidated by job titles, levels of experience, etc. In terms of the customer support department, I am thoroughly excited to come to work everyday knowing that I have the ability to build and create processes that improve workflow efficiency for the team, and ultimately, the company. What is phenomenal about this department is that your managers will always listen to your ideas, and will work with you to get it implemented into the workflow. They will ALWAYS give you credit for the work that you do! I've never felt more empowered in a workplace. Our product is also amazing because we're actually helping people get out of debt. If you're upbeat and have a genuine interest in helping individuals improve their overall credit health by getting out of debt, customer support is the place to be. In terms of the perks, we have monthly company happy hours, a fully stocked kitchen with a coffee/espresso machine, a ping pong table, a Nintendo 64 game console, bean bag chairs, and more! They are currently remodeling offices in both Phoenix and San Francisco, and I know they will both be beautiful because they have great taste! I'm excited for my future with Upgrade. I know we're headed to the top!

Pros

The founding team is the best in the industry hands down. They bring incredible experience of having previously built a multi-billion dollar company in the Fintech space. They have great vision for our company but more importantly, they know how to execute against that vision. The culture is simple but amazing: Hire talented people and empower them to do what they do best, treat everyone as equals regardless of title, work hard and get stuff done with a sense of urgency, be passionate about helping people and changing a financial services industry for the positive, and have fun with our journey of building something great. The company is in the very early stages of building a company from the beginning and you can just feel the positive and creative energy from the team. There's also a ton of career growth opportunities for those who do great work at the company. The company just raised one of the largest series A funding rounds ever in the Fintech space. Clearly investors are very excited about the upside of the company. The office locations in both San Francisco and Phoenix are beautiful, state of the art, downtown, and central to public transportation which is great for those who commute longer distances. It's the opposite of many bureaucratic organizations with unnecessary layers of people who do little to no actual work. The company idea is to hire exceptional people who like to do actual work and run lean. Middle management is experienced and clearly cares about the people they lead. Even though they bring great industry experience, they also don't pretend to know it all and they proactively seek out feedback from the team on ideas for improvement. The personal loan product is fantastic because it helps customers lower the cost of their credit and improves their financial lives. Having a great product and truly helping people is huge for me.

Cons

I can't think of any cons as of today.
