Your feedback is helpful for us to understand how we could communicate more clearly in future. We strive to be transparent in our communications with our team members. As with any scaling company, growing pains are an inevitable part of the process. Our leadership team is comprised of first-time managers and those who have seasoned experience. Manager development is an important part of our organization and we have partnered with an external leadership consultant providing ongoing learning and coaching in addition to creating internal training to support these efforts. We realize we have more work to do in this area and we will continue to support the ongoing development of our leaders. Thank you for taking the time to share your specific feedback with us as it will help us continue to improve in this area.

DO NOT DO IT!

Pros

nothing. literally nothing. nada. zip. zilch.

Cons

Where do I even start? They hire WAY too many employees; people will be sitting around doing nothing for 7 hours out of the day. For every new employee they hire, another one quits or gets fired. The turnover rate is insane. Not only that, but they hire total losers here. I’m surprised they don’t drug test people considering the incidents that happened here involving drugs and alcohol with employees at work. Just shows the type of lowlifes they hire. The favoritism is so obvious it’s sad. If you are friends with upper management, they will go above and beyond for you as far as promotions go. There would be someone with more experience and talent than you but if you are friends with management, they will give you the job over the person who actually deserves it. They tell us if we do A, B and C that we will get a raise and then they never give it to us. They would rather spend all that extra money towards something more important, like having a break room stocked with snacks that no one eats. They try to show that they “care” about their employees by providing us with snacks, food, happy hour events, etc. but in reality they don’t even know your name let alone care about how you feel at work. You can walk past someone in the hallway and say “hi” and they won’t even look at you in the face let alone respond to you. They get away with anything around here. If you want to work for a company that actually cares about their employees and values their opinions, my advice to you is to keep looking!

Thank you for your feedback. As with any scaling company, growing pains are an inevitable part of the process. Sometimes business can ebb and flow and it seems we could improve our communications in this area. We strive to give growth opportunities to our team members at different points in their professional development with the goal of setting them up for long-term success. We have an established internal posting and interview process for open positions within our organization to provide a fair opportunity for those interested in these roles to be considered. Upgrade is committed to a drug free, positive work environment and we have zero tolerance for the type of behavior you describe in your feedback. We encourage all team members to share their concerns directly with any member of management or with our People Operations team. If you have additional details about the concerns you mentioned, we encourage you to connect with us at wecare@upgrade.com so we can appropriately address them. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us.
