Pros

Some of the deans are very committed to the greater good of the students.

Cons

UIU is a very dysfunctional organization not only at the main campus, but at all the academic extensions.

Pros

Building relationships with and getting to truly help the students. Some of the co-workers were enjoyable. Get approximately two weeks off at Christmas.

Cons

Bully mentality. Leadership wants to implement changes, but refuses to take ownership of anything to make these changes happen. They refuse to take accountability for any of their actions, but are eager to fire people when they believe they aren't holding their own. The ELT like to hire "yes" men who won't question their terrible opinions and actions. I'm also very concerned about this school's Board of Directors. It seems as though they are working in their own best interest. How they are still operating without fraudulent charges pending after they nearly led the school to bankruptcy is beyond comprehension...

Pros

UIU allows the young professional the ability to "wear many hats." This is a unique attribute of the institution and provides many various experiences as well as the ability to learn in a variety of different roles within the institution.

Cons

Leadership goals are not clear. Some individuals in leadership roles appear to have no experience or credentials. Some new positions are not advertised; just filled. High turnover. Small rural area.
