We appreciate your feedback on both the pros and cons of working at Uptake. We realize this review is from December, but our leadership team has made tremendous strides in providing transparency and visibility within our organization. One of the things we are most proud of is Kayne's CEO Updates that are done every Monday morning to the entire company; in addition, we have continued the cadence of our monthly All Hands. The added focus, combined with having the right talent in place, puts us in a strong position to continue to grow and gain market share. We're proud of the recent momentum of our Uptake Fleet product. With Uptake Fleet's predictive technology, our customers can avoid costly breakdowns and extend the life of their vehicles!

Pros

- Interesting product that has potential - Some talented peer co-workers - Reasonable compensation

Cons

- Low team morale (lots of passive aggressive behavior in meetings) - Extremely disorganized - Zero work/life balance - Blame culture - Incompetent and deceitful management - Diversity and Inclusion initiatives are weak. There is corporate level communication especially related to cultural holidays but day to day team interactions don't align. I observed inappropriate remarks in meetings that were ignored by managers. - Overall, day to day operations and execution is terrible

Thank you for your review and we’re sorry to hear Uptake is the worst job you’ve ever had. On the other hand, we are glad to hear that you have positive feedback on your coworkers, compensation, and the potential of our product. We appreciate your notes and advice to management - we always consider this kind of feedback very closely as this helps us shape the employee experience and our business from within. There are considerable strides being made with regards to Diversity and Inclusion within the People Team, but as we all know these types of initiatives don’t happen overnight - it is a process we take seriously and are thoughtfully structuring for success in the near future. With regards to over-hiring, we are currently only hiring for the open positions we have and do not hire for more than what the business needs. We encourage employees to provide feedback in the form of anonymous pulse surveys, an ethics line or simply reaching out to the People Team. We would have welcomed the opportunity to take corrective action with the behavior you mentioned in meetings, but without additional context, it is difficult to respond. You can still reach out on the ethics line to file a report: 844-296-1317 We are disappointed to hear about your negative experience in this area as well as your feelings on lack of work-life balance. We are always trying to boost employee morale and engagement with events like our Wellness Week and regularly provide resources surrounding mental health and general well-being. Our re-power hour, unlimited PTO, and flexible working hours are specifically designed to give Uptakers the work-life balance they need to be successful in their personal and professional experiences.
