Pros

Utica National is a company that gives back to the community, which is so important to me. The leadership is wonderful and they have been doing an excellent job throughout the pandemic. The company is very family-oriented, but there is opportunity for growth. Leadership training available.

Cons

I don't have any at this time.

Pros

Onsite "Mobile Marketplace" for light fare and snacks when the cafe isn't open, Free Drink Monday (which is a big meh to begin with to show your appreciation for your employees when you do a billion dollars a year in premium), Insurance industry is pretty recession proof.

Cons

CDDO (Committed to Delivery Dispute Obstacles) is a disaster; its a way for the company to make employees work overtime, Managers who have no idea what their own employees are working on, Compensation does not scale competitively, PTO is low, holiday schedule is lackluster for being such a big company, morale couldn't be lower between employees.

Pros

Large community presence involved in local philanthropy. Corporate atmosphere but a small company. Lots of lateral career opportunities. Benefits package on par for industry.

Cons

Lots of resistance to change at the expense of employees. IT infrastructure and technology is 10+ years behind industry standard. IT is not prioritized and issues with internal systems become part of standard workflow. Distribution and marketing strategy is not fully developed. Documentation is excess and repetitive. Decisions are often made without team input. Employees often required to wear many different hats and responsibilities even when the resources are present from other business units or vendors. Opportunities for vertical career movement are few and far between especially for younger employees. Executive leadership was a revolving door during my time.
