Pros

Work with animals, most coworkers are great (management is the problem).

Cons

Management does not see you as a person and the kennel attendants might as well be glorified janitors. We do practically all the cleaning on top of our already rigid duties.

Bad Management

They tried to pay me covid pay after only being there for 2 weeks but unfortunately they were unable to.

Cons

The manager was insecure and a bully. She couldn't handle anyone talking bad about her and would immediately write them up. I had been working there for a total of 4 days (I had gotten covid and was out of the office for 2 weeks), and she heard a rumor that I was talking about her behind her back, which wasn't true and called me into her office, wrote me up for that and because I wasn't picking up on the training fast enough... even though it was literally my 4th day there. But she had no problem talking with the other employees about me. Horrible horrible management.

VCA tried to offer good benefits, but the individual practice can be toxic depending on the management. (-e.g VCA Aventura) Overall, benefits are good for their full-time employees. -401K -Insurance -Discount for own pets(up to 4) -The opportunities to see cute pups and kitties

Cons

*Low paying compare to all the tasks. *No guidelines to handle aggressive dogs *Favoritism/Gossiping/Workplace bullying *No flexibility to take a day-off -Hardly approve time off request *Poor management skill -Let workplace bullying continue. -Punish for speaking up against harassment, discrimination bullying, and violence. -Abuse authority to modify documents for the HR team to build cases against employees and only focus on protecting herself.
