Low stress, good future plans if they figure it all out, some good people.

Cons

Low overall skills in IT and a lot of outsourcing because of it. Annoying amount of blockers and legacy ways of thinking. Healthcare plans that cost way too much.

-Many educational resources online, and training modules- but the quality of in-hospital training varies greatly hospital to hospital. Can have some amazing trainers. Can* learn a lot. -Practices high quality medicine -Employees Amazing doctors (in my experience)- I've worked with 13 of their doctors (in 2 different states NC/SC)and they've all been exceptional. -Good pet benefits/discounts, Ok human benefits -Practices high standards of medicine and care -Standardized corporate practices so easy to transfer around, but not overly constricted corporate- each hospital is different which can be good or bad.

Cons

-Poor work/life balance or priority -Below average pay for techs and assistants -little to no appreciation -Zero value of employees -Apathetic leadership, lacks management and oversight -Cliques and bullying (common in vetmed in general to be fair, doesn't make it right though.) -Does not maintain a respectful workplace environment/culture -Unfair work environment with favoritism, unequal expectations, and inequitable accountability. Risk of retaliation.

At the hospital level there are great people and the veterinary field can be very rewarding.

Cons

Corporate open door policy is a joke. Retaliation for questioning policies is rampant. Department executives and management lack the knowledge and skills for their jobs but are safe and continually promoted because they are part of the inner club.
