Pros

Committed to safety and innovative health care

Cons

Salaries are all over the place. If you work here and get promoted from within, there is no account taken for this and your pay becomes out of line with others in the same position

Pros

Somewhat flexible scheduling, overall positive work environment. Management is approachable and easy to get along with.

Cons

Pay is FAR below average. Other hospitals in the area pay their techs/CPs around $2-4 more per hour. Low pay and long hours simply isn’t sustainable while attending college full time. Maybe it would work out for nursing students, but if you need the money - don’t waste your time at VCU. Also, care partners are often severely understaffed, sometimes with 1 CP for an entire floor, especially at night.
