Pros

schedule flexibility, great for a stay at home mom, extra money-bonus opportunities, great kids, excellent and helpful forum for teachers to discuss and get answers to questions from each other.

Cons

So far the biggest con has to do with their evaluation process. The interview evaluation I was docked points for following the teacher directions instead of doing it the way they did in the video, mind you this was before any training. My very first informal evaluation was on my very first class. I did a lot of prep for the class, but was nervous, so it wasn't perfect. Some of the feedback was valid, but I was docked for not using props when I did use props. My first formal evaluation again had some valid feedback, but some of the feedback docked me for things like preparation when that lesson was changed by the company right before the class. Lessons aren't supposed to be changed less than 24 hours before the class, but somewhere between 1 and 9 hours before this one was. When I saw it the next morning I had only a little time to try to prep this new lesson, and was docked for obviously reading the teacher directions. In a real life situation, during an evaluation you are able to give your own feedback. VIPKid doesn't, so I can't ask why I was docked for no props when I had a whiteboard and magnet and pictures, and I can't say, "Well I had to read the TD because the lesson was changed at the last minute and I wasn't given adequate time or notice to prepare." You are able to submit a ticket, which I did, but still haven't heard back. This is still a fairly new company even though they have been around for three years, so I understand that they are working out some kinks, and I personally believe that this is one that should be looked at.

Pros

This job is very rewarding and you can pick your own schedule!!! Oh and you can make a lot of money too. The kids I teach brighten my day and I already have a few regular students that I see every week. It is beyond fun! The curriculum is already designed and ready to go so you don't have to lesson plan!

Cons

Depending on where you live the time difference can be tough but you get used to it
