Pros

In the beginning, it was like family. Everyone was nice to one another. Everyone always complimenting each other about something. Great moral but that went away quickly. nice office space.

Cons

They false advertise. Site says they have an inpatient unit at Baylor's but they don't as of 2/28/20203. They do not do palliative care anymore. They are under scrutiny for Medicare fraud as of Feb 23,2023 for millions of dollars. Low moral, high turnover over rate. Front desk position sits in one place for 8 hrs. You can't go roam and you can't be a part of the group. Just a loaner not ever being involved in anything. Feel under appreciated by upper management. So secretive don't every inform us on what is going on.

Abusive Coworker

Pros

I’ve worked in hospice before and love working with patients and families. It is deeply humbling and rewarding to work in this field. Some of my workers were also great

Cons

I was bullied relentlessly by a coworker who had a reputation in the office for abusive behavior (according to HR). She literally screamed at me, excluded me from meetings, and refused to share resources and information. I would hear her yelling about me to her boss (others could also hear). Management assistance was weak or nonexistent (we can’t lose staff right now). HR admitted to me she had run off several new staff members already. One day, it just broke me. There was one incident too many. I quit in the middle of the day. Because I did not give two 8weeks notice, I can never work for VITAS again. I had been asking for assistance for 6 months.
