      Ageism at it’s finest

      Pros

      The business operations manager at the time was a very nice person. That’s it.

      Cons

      Low pay ($14.00 hourly) The environment was very toxic while employed. It seemed like they are ageist towards younger individuals in the medical records department. Passive aggressive people Nice nasty people People should keep their religion out of work places because that can create heavy issues, that’s unprofessional. Very sad and depressing environment Physical labor of lifting heavy medical record charts alone and the supervisor do not train you The other staff is mean older women in the department that don’t like you if you’re younger then them. ‘Its very cliquey as well in this company

      Vitas let many of us devoted staff down

      Pros

      Most the coworkers was phenomenal, went above and beyond to care for the patients to their best of their abilities. So many with caring hearts and compassion.

      Cons

      Vitas is a very greedy company!!!! They only care about lacing their pockets and not providing patients with the care they deserve. Wouldn’t give adequate raises to their staff or pay out the money to keep staff so their patients could be cared for especially at the end of life. Nobody wanted to work for them they are so greedy and insensitive to patients and families. Would not provide proper PPE for staff during COVID. Got $18 million from the government in COVID funds to hand us cheap shields that was actually plastic paper dividers that fogged up. Could not spend $3 per employee to buy us a reusable fog resistant shield when I asked.

      Hospice patients deserve better

      Connecting with Patients and families. Working with compassionate field staff

      Cons

      Profit is number one. Patient care and staff are not a priority. Hospice should not be about numbers, but sadly Vitas makes that the priority. Insurance is not good and there are no paid holidays you have to use PTO.
