Pros
- Great track record of hiring really motivated, dedicated, smart employees. This crowd likes to get things done, from the bottom to the top. Nearly everyone acknowledges that they have something to learn: there is a very small pool of people in the world, let alone VTS, who come from both a tech and real estate background, so there is a shared sense of responsibility in teaching others and explaining your perspective. Pioneers. - Some great additions to the management team in 2015 has brought good foundational structure and improving some process challenges that come with the fast-growth-startup territory. - Strong partnerships with top institutional players in the CRE space - Equity & 401k - Regular company standups share mission-critical info and reward/recognize team achievements/milestones.
Cons
- It's a fast-growth start-up in an industry that hasn't seen a lot of tech disruption. Now that we have a huge customer base, it's all about continuing to evolve to keep them happy, engaged, and wanting more. You have to move fast and be smart, and there won't always be a process to address what you are trying to do. Some would call that growing pains and not everyone wants to work in that environment. - improved new hire onboarding process as we added ~20-30 employees in the second half of last year. However, it's not a perfect curriculum, and some departments have more structure than others. Don't expect a formal training program - this place is best suited for someone who can dive in and figure out what they need.
