Not a good place to work

Pros

The Arizona State Retirement is a good program, but they do take > 11% of your pay. This is the only good thing I can say.

Cons

NO training. NO orientation. Told there is no job description, there never will. Here's your job, figure it out, make it up as you go along. No teamwork. No support system. Unsafe. Someone made the comment "If you don't fit in here when you first get here, you never will." And they will let you know it. I, for one, truly wish I would have heeded those words.

Pros

Depending on the section you work, management will send you to computer training for Microsoft Office if you lack the skills.

Cons

Barely any training provided. Managers tell you to "figure it out" and walk off. You are left hanging to complete projects. You have to schedule time on your manager's calendar just to meet with them. Staff is angry and can be hostile.

Pros

AZ State Retirement System Remote Position

Cons

Medical Benefit Premiums are Expensive Most affordable options limit you to Valleywise. When I first started working at Valleywise, the focus was on providing healthcare to the underserved community. Since the TAX- FUNDED system was rebranded from Maricopa Integrated Health Systems and expansion became the focus, it has been all about bringing in money. The employees are treated as replaceable, under-valued, and disrespected. The CEO of this TAX-FUNDED health system, Steve Purves made $897,896 in 2021, and receives an annual bonus of 25% of his annual pay. I wasn't able to find his 2023 salary. They are pinching pennies at the expense of their employees and patients, under the guise of rebranding and expansion, but the executives are making almost a million per year. Consider this when they're on the ballot next time. DO NOT FUND VALLEYWISE EXECUTIVES WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS!!!
