Pros

Culture was lively back when operations were in-person before COVID-19. An array of opportunities to work with Fortune 500 organizations and tap into a variety of industries.

Cons

Remote culture suffered from loss of differentiating value of making in-person gatherings feel intentional and connected. Weekly meetings felt forced and there was an overall sense that people of color weren't prioritized, had no proper awareness raised around certain issues (Black Lives Matter, George Floyd), were not given opportunities, or continuity of support while other colleagues received preferential treatment.

I appreciate your feedback and your call to not get complacent. I’m really proud of the ways that we haven’t, with priorities like improving our performance management processes and feedback-driven employee value proposition programs. Additionally, our new Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Awareness (IDEA) strategy was started as a result of George Floyd’s murder and we made impressive progress in a short time (https://www.kinandcarta.com/-/media-assets/files/kincarta/social-impact/impact-report---2023.pdf?rev=-1&hash=52CFE453E62EDD47D479FCD122614B4D). It’s these workplace evolutions, paired with cross-industry consulting work, which makes the Kin + Carta environment stand out. However, I recognize that there is always more to be done. I wish you the best in the next step of your journey. Thank you for your review. - Head of People

Pros

Good benefits, great folks, CEO is okay, culture is nice

Cons

The company just got acquired by Valtech so a bit worried about employment, senior management is like a clique and so is everyone who started from "Solstice"

I appreciate the time you took to share your review. Kin + Carta was just acquired, and while there will be change across both organizations, we are focused on growth. The joining of Kin + Carta with Valtech has enabled us to expand our impact while still maintaining our expertise. This is exciting as we are going to see our companies scale to over 8,000 experts across 25 countries. I see this as a big opportunity for our people. As you are a current employee, I would value the opportunity to personally connect to better understand your worries and your feedback. Often these conversations are more productive and lead to change which improves our workplace. Please reach out to me or a member of my team directly and we can find a convenient time to chat. - Alan Durand, VP of People

Pros

Valtech is focused on some strong markets with good potential.

Cons

Management is leaving the Dallas office like the place is engulfed in flames!! I was a part of Delivery/staff augmentation and had less success than any position I have ever had. Sales people bring in a lot of numbers but nothing EVER comes out it as far as closes. It is all but impossible to make any money in this place. Client base is static and dwindling and absolutely no efforts are spent trying to open meaningful lines of revenue. Management is totally clueless and this fact is exploited by employees especially on the Sales/Marketing side. Their are no underlying processes or real structure and every day is a crap-shoot. There are a number of incompetent and/or totally unqualified people in key positions over Sales, Recruiting and Project Management who are huge deficits to any progress. This place is a Political landmine and everyone lives by the "I am first rule" Known issues are ignored and swept under the rug rather than resolved. There are ZERO repeatable processes and as someone pointed out results are never measured and mistakes are repeated. Sometimes it is like being stuck in limbo. There is NO PASSION in the Recruiting team and ONLY one person making any real money. Valtech has a lot of meetings and talks about finding ways to constantly improve but adhere to a strict "Head in the sand-Ignore it and it will go away' policy of apathy. Politically there is a "Us against them" mindset and everyone in Management has their own agenda with no regard for the employees. If you just want a place to draw a paycheck and watch a comedy of errors join Valtech.
