Revenue feels priority (NYC office)

Pros

Strong and diverse talent, great clientele, flexible WFH policy, global offices, relative autonomy, pay can be high (or conversely, very low)

Cons

Heavy focus on margins, people are seen as "resources" and feel expendable, pressure to be billable, long hours, no bonuses, don't promote often from within, outgrowing the physical office (lack of meeting rooms)

Thank you for your recent review and for highlighting some of the positive aspects of working for Valtech. Regarding some of your areas of concern, Valtech has been working hard over the past several months to address some of the issues you have raised in your review. Specifically, we are in the process of transitioning to a new delivery model which should solve some of the issues you mention including overworked teams and lack of motivation. Additionally, Valtech understands the important role the HR Team provides to the employees. We recently hired a Manager of People and Engagement in NYC as well as a Director of People and Culture in North America. This team will be implementing new processes and programs that will help drive employee engagement and satisfaction which is a top priority for Valtech. At Valtech we genuinely care about and place the highest value on each and every single one of our employees. Our greatest strengths lie in the skill, judgement and talent of our employees. We recognize that our success is related directly to the dedication and performance of our employees. We believe in the potential of people who are inspired, engaged and work together for common goals & objectives.” The People and Culture Team

Growth over People

Pros

Impressive growth. Decent pay. Opportunities for opportunists.

Cons

Valtech is entirely driven by Financial goals. More than any other company I have ever worked at. Under the new management in the US, people are NOT a concern. Client satisfaction is pushed as a means to the financial ends. Additionally, the organization is still surprisingly chaotic and immature. There seems to be a strategic direction but it is not formulated or communicated, leaving employees without direction. The little communication that is available is often unclear and not helpful and increasingly on need to know basis. Under the new management, Valtech has become a fairly toxic environment for regular team members and harsh for the leadership team.

Pros

* When they have a lot of project and budget they will give space to developers to learn * There are nice parties(2-3 times a year)

Cons

* It is very stressful when they lose their projects. * They fire a lot of people every month without any reason and they try to give unreasonable feedback in advanced (They start it almost 1 month before firing employees every two weeks) by email to have some proofs to show that you are not good and they have a good reason to fire you. * There is a very big salary difference between old and new employee's salary. Even though they say it is a flat workspace but in most of the teams, it is very hierarchical and team leads make all kind of decisions even technical decision without considering developers idea. * When customer rejects the estimation for a specific task or epic they will reduce the budget even to 40% without considering the technical point of view and force the developers to do the task in that short time and if the developer says it is not possible they will threat the developer that they will fire him/her and they did so many times.
