Pros

It's a job. There are breweries, grocery/alternative shops nearby for post work accommodation and meditation.

Cons

Oh boy. Oh boy, oh boy. Where do I even start? I remember giving this place a review not so long ago (about nine months maybe) but now I have worked here for essentially a year. So without further adieu I guess I'll just jump into it. Vaupell really takes the good, the bad, and the ugly and cranks it up to a whole new level. I am not even talking about level 11, more like level 20. They refuse to spend money on actual things that a company needs to survive and compete but rather focus their attention on petty crap such as buying sixteen new cameras, and demanding that the place be spotless clean. But, at the same time, there are chairs that are literally falling apart, aging equipment that spits out garbage if you can even call plastic that, ironically, not to mention their so called "training" which just consist of a lecture for ten minutes, reading a book, and then the lead telling you that you will be fired if caught doing it. Don't expect to get any praise or recognition. DO expect to be berated and insulted every single time you make a mistake. Do expect to be publicly humiliated in front of your piers when it happens. Do expect to be viewed as an asset, but rather just number and nuisance. It is quite funny how I have heard multiple times that they ask for your opinion but yet I see no change at all. Nope, instead more and more stupid policies are put into place that serve purpose for what, exactly? I suppose this is what happens when you make an engineer a manager, it just doesn't work out well, does it? Actually now that I think about it, this is what happens when you chose the lead's and upper management based on favorites rather then the most suited person avialbe for the job, eh? If you need a job right now to make some money then go for it. But for the love of god don't stay here long term. You'll basically be doing a dead end job with no advancement, no appreciation, which will eventually take away your aspiration. Try not to entirely trust people too much here. Don't get me wrong, the coworkers are great. Hell I even met my boyfriend here. But there are backstabbers and snitches lurking around. People who will try to get you fired for something that is not even their business. I';m not gonna even touch on additional subjects like the sexual harassment, or the people who purposely make you angry just so you do something that lands you in hot water. This review is too long and negative as it is and I think you all get the point by now. So just stay alert and be aware that there is indeed the dreaded politic system going on in here. Why? I don't know, don't ask me. I'm just telling you like it is.

Pros

There are a small handful of good people within this company.

Cons

Very rude/hostile working environment. Not proactive. Very reactive. Lack of integrity within the senior management team. Continuous improvement is a joke outside of manufacturing. Continuous improvement is all about cutting heads. Senior management likes to burn people out.

Pros

You can build your resume if you are new to the industry. Somewhat flexible schedule. Close to Ballard for much needed after work drinks.

Cons

Senior Management does not appear to care about employees. You are simply part of a cattle herd, no name, no recognition, no positive feedback, no gratitude for hard work, no rewards, no teamwork, zero leadership.
