Pros

Flexible schedule and about 15% of the customers a really sweet

Cons

The job is a 12 hour shift, which because of the hours starting time feels like eternity , management is horrible, they dont care about the customers which is why so many have switched over the only care about premium customers. The company is cheap no over time is available because they want you to call on all your days off to maybe come in and if you dont call on your day off you get disciplined. Waking up to call in to work and hear that you arent needed at 6 am on your day off is exhausting. Thousands of calls a night split between 3 workers and lazy sups that wont grab an alarm. If you want repetition get a job here youll be doing the same thing forever because youll never move up in the company unless a supervisor passes away.

Thank you for taking time out to share this review with us. Recognizing the promotional opportunities, the great team members working here at Vector Security, and how you can really make a difference in the work you do is the type of feedback we strive for. As you mentioned, the pay is getting better. Our Compensation team does reviews of the market and jobs frequently to make sure we are keeping up with our peers. As for having to relocate for promotions, we are getting better with that considering the last several years we have started to embrace hybrid/remote roles for certain positions. Unfortunately, we will never be able to change location specific roles. Thanks again for taking time to review us. We wish you many more favorable years at Vector Security. Best of luck!

Pros

Lots of pros to this place. They go as follows: - Decent coverage plan for insurance - Culture and people you work with are all-stars. Shoutout to all of Tech Support for being such amazing people and are the true MVPs. - Training could be better (will detail in cons) but team will back you up and help with questions. - Lunches and catering are provided sporadically through the year. - Yearly bonus exists even for non-sales employees given a specific amount is made. - Work/life balance is almost a given. Work from home gives flexibility and everyone is understanding of issues. - Hours of operation give you a real decent range of time to do things. - Lots of opportunity to do OT - Free Vector merch, and after 6 months free vector security equipment installed at no cost to you.

Cons

While the company has a lot of ups, it has it's downs. They go as follows: - Phone queue work is intense. Periods of up to 20 calls in our queue and often times we are completely behind due to shortage of workers. - Due to higher management being out of touch with phone queues, they do not know what's going on and refuse to hire more, pay more, etc. -Pay is mediocre for the area. Be prepared to have a room mate or work remote in an affordable area. - Training is mediocre. You don't actually learn anything regarding HOW to work but rather what the company is about. It almost feels like indoctrination but it's not how the rest of the company works. - Coordination with other departments is often lacking. T1 and other tech support have to work with project team and while there are allstars there, the project team does not communicate, know what they are doing, and for the life of them cannot provide proper information to projects. - Be prepared for a revolving door. People come and go.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience working at Vector Security and for your positive and constructive feedback. Your acknowledgement of our health insurance, pay/benefits, the culture, work/life balance, love of your former managers, and working with all-stars is the kind of review we strive for. While you did mention some cons, we have been focusing on making improvements and are going through a business transformation which includes the implementation of a better system that will enhance the way we do business. It will help us work together more collaboratively and serve our customers more efficiently. Our entire Management Team continuously strives to improve the communications with/between employees and areas. Our Sr Management is enhancing that communication via newly formed roundtable sessions to discuss breaking down silos and ensuring each team member has the tools and information needed to not only accomplish their role but also understand inputs, outputs and impact to other areas. We appreciate the time you took to share this feedback and wish you the best of luck in your career!
