Pros

Friendly environment, remote (or so they say), seemingly nice CEO

Cons

Inconsistent, nearly no PTO, not competitive pay Veeva Systems says they are fully remote and yet they are now requiring local employees to go to the office twice a month. They can't tell you that you HAVE to go but when you are in Management there are clear implications that you BETTER come in. Then they took our supposed 'unlimited PTO" down to 20 days and now ONLY 15 days INCLUDING sick days. On top of that we are receiving emails on how working from home has proven to be unproductive, and they want us to do two daily team check-ins (which only takes away from work time and just is an obnoxious ploy to promote micromanagement). Veeva Systems message of work from anywhere is inconsistent. They do not pay competitive industry pay and the only thing keeping us here is the nice people and benefits. Now that you are dwindling the benefits, there is no real incentive to stay and many employees will start looking elsewhere.

Pros

You will gain experience, because you will be working on a lot of things.

Cons

Horrible mid-senior level management. You are running this company as a consulting business, yet you are a tech company. Pick one. People are either completely burnt out, or demotivated. Compensation is WELL below average. Raises are below inflation, even though the business is ridiculously profitable. Employees are not valued. You can't hire because you don't pay enough - the market has moved forward, but you haven't. The one time you did decide to pay at market, it took 3 weeks to approve the offer, at which point the candidate went elsewhere. You have VP's that will yell at junior associates in calls. You have more TPM's than engineers, and you include them in your standup calls. You say you are remote first, until an employee asks to relocate, and then you take them off projects.

Pros

- For the most part co-workers are smart, kind and hard working and this is why it’s hard to leave - They really strive to meet customer needs, customer success comes first - They clearly see needs in the market before others and actively address sooner

Cons

- They need D&I to be taken seriously; look at the leadership page, do you see yourself there? People hire people who look like them so there is a very ‘bro’ culture here and in some areas its so concentrated that it’s uncomfortable to be a woman. Even customers comment on the lack of diversity to leadership - There has been a mass exodus of top performers and while Veeva makes an effort to retain its always too late, too little and by then you are over it; sad really because these people made the company what it is - You’ll sleep when you die. There is no balance, every day is a pressure cooker if you are good at what you do, if you are not good at what you do you are likely pretty happy because expectations are low, they’ll just have a top performer make up for your failings - Pay is well below market & is focused solely on RSUs, which was great if you got in early but pretty meaningless now; when I left I realized I was paid $50k under market value - The products are getting crappy. The technology + UX was slick 5+ years ago and now it’s just tired and filled poorly designed features on a poorly designed platform; customers are starting to grumble as features become harder to configure & harder to use (come on guys, objects are awful to configure, the UX is terrible and features are extremely limited because you continue to use objects without skins to build your features)
