Pros

- Nice new HQ building in Pleasanton - Really tasty, healthy free lunches and snacks - Decent work/life balance most of the time - Fitness classes, free bicycles to borrow - Growing company in a hot market

Cons

- No internal advancement opportunities - Below-market rate salaries and pay - So much toxic middle management - CEO struggles with social interactions; doesn't really "get" people - Whole C-suite seems disconnected to what's happening on the floor - Glass and bamboo ceiling in full effect Your experience at Veeva entirely depends on your manager—and there are some terrible ones who have ingratiated themselves with leadership. These people are just biding their time waiting for their options to vest. You job will inevitably be to stroke their delicate egos and to tow the line. If you actually care about building a great product, avoid Veeva.

Pros

- The people who work at Veeva are some of the smartest most hardworking teammates you’ll ever have. - Work from anywhere! - Opportunity to work with lots of different customers

Cons

- Work life balance is non-existent. People are regularly working 70, 75 hour weeks with no end in sight. Some are so exhausted they literally break down crying in meetings. People are quitting in droves, 2-3 per week and there’s no one to backfill. This is not a joke. - There is no training. Consultants receive the same training as customers receive. And we are supposed to know more than them? - The pay is well under market. - If you have a question there’s a “group chat” you can post it in and hope someone takes pity on you and answers you. - At my exit interview I raised some serious issues with the Employee Success team and just got a very condescending “sorry it didn’t work out at Veeva” from the rep I met with. Do better ES.

Pros

Pros - remote work for some groups but not all

Cons

Don't expect to spend time with your family if you join Veeva. Summer 2024 Veeva rolled out policy changes that are unsupportive of working parents. 1. 15 vacation days. PTO used to be unlimited, and now it is restricted to 15 days. The days cannot be used to care for sick kids. Do not be fooled - "Flexible PTO" is not flexible. Leadership believes we have more because they give us "Veeva Break" which is time off between xmas and New Year. This year, that comes out to 3 days and no flexibility to take more on the front or back end. 2. A policy and cultural norm was introduced that indicates an employee will not be eligible for promotion if they do not work beyond the hours of 8-5. We are expected to surpass 40 hours in order to be considered for promotion. Your individual performance and results don't matter - just how many hours you work. 3. Business travel cannot happen during working hours. Employees are expected to travel Sundays and late at night.
