Pros

Remote work. Decent health benefits. DEI is great, and they are a very inclusive company. Most of the people I work with on a regular basis are great.

Cons

Where do I start?- Horrible leadership and management; frustrating restructuring; and plain unfairness. The company was really great when I started and honestly one of the best places that I had worked at, but it really took a turn for the worst in the past year or so. It could have been due to the new CEO/stakeholders. They reorganized several departments and split up teams into smaller cohorts. Instead of hiring more people, they have significantly increased the responsibilities of the rest of the employees without even offering a slight pay raise. In fact, they technically demoted many of us because our job titles changed to reflect a lower role. After bringing this up, management quickly dismissed me and said it didn't matter. And even before the restructuring, I had to fight tooth and nail for a pay raise bigger than the offered 1.5-3% annual pay raise. The chaos of new and constantly changing responsibilities makes it feel like we're working for a start up and not an established company. For example, they tell us task A is super important and needs to be quickly addressed- then in a few months, it doesn't matter anymore and we need to prioritize B instead. But, you are still reviewed on A and B for the whole year. Yet, management still emphasizes that it doesn't matter even though it does matter because it affects your annual review which then affects pay raises, promotions, and even employment. Last year, they pushed us to work much harder and longer for a project with the promise that the pace would decrease to what it was after it was done, but it's stayed consistently high. In a company meeting, leadership acknowledged they said that, and then said they wouldn't be slowing down anyways. Many people feel constantly drained including myself. Another instance that really irked me about the company is that if you're approved for a promotion, you still have to wait at least a year for it to be finalized with your new title and new pay. However, your responsibilities still change and you are working on your "approved" promoted title responsibilities without the pay. During the restructuring, it was even more frustrating because people had to wait longer and instead of giving them promotions for these roles which they have earned, they hired more middle management. So if you're looking for career opportunities within the company, they're only going to be lateral movements. They have also changed time tracking policies several times within the past year, and it has become increasingly frustrating. One example is that we are expected to meet 75% of our work goals, but the catch is that PTO isn't excluded. So if I take all my PTO, even if I do all of my work on the days I am working, the max I can achieve overall is around 80%. This doesn't include the work from the mandatory meetings and classes they ask of you and your mandatory professional goals. This policy may not seem too bad since 80% is technically still "passing", but it matters for annual reviews and pay raises. To add to this, new lower management micromanages everything. Yes, they are flexible with time (in some cases), but the micromanagement is still very much present. Side comment - I agree with someone else's review that the 5.0 star reviews here with a high CEO approval rating are fake. This place is a sinking ship. Pros

401k match and medical benefits are nice but sub-par. Work-life balance is great. The people here are very friendly but often come off as over positive (toxic positivity is a common theme in every meeting). Every sales manager here will truly have your back but as you go up the ladder that is not the case. *The 5 star reviews with little to no context are fake!!!

Cons

VelocityEHS has been selling the vision of a product that has been delayed for 3 years now and we can only assume it will be delayed further. The new-ish CEO John has delusions of a "war" we are fighting against competitors that we are winning, when in reality we are not. Be prepared to only hear from him 3 times a year and it will be the exact same slides and the exact same speech every time. The product is a great fit for Mid-Market companies but it is not an Enterprise solution, at least yet. Competitors are lightyears ahead in data collection, reporting and configurability which are common necessities for Enterprise companies. Pay is severely below average for those of us who have been here for over 8 years and they have no desire in pay bumps. Be prepared to be ignored for days if not weeks by internal team members when it comes to a response. Expect the same for customers as well, have had instances where customers go over a month of being ignored by customer care/billing so then they take it out on the reps..

Pros

The employees/leaders that actually tried kept you hopeful and moving forward. The location is obviously great, and you don’t have to leave the building if you want a quick break which I really enjoyed. There were challenges and plenty of things to improve, which for those that like to work...you have a plethora of things you can dig into.

Cons

Looking at these other reviews, I want to know what company they worked for...because it sure doesn’t feel like the same company I worked for. It felt like a college party, every. single. day. For the teams that were around me, I don’t think anyone worked 40 hours in a week... maybe one person. It was a ghost town after 5pm, sometimes by 4:30pm and breaks were taken nonstop. If you want a job and don’t actually care to work, this is the place for you - learn how to talk the talk and you’ll slide by for years to come. You have to be very comfortable with drinking and lots of socializing to work here, or else you’ll feel like an outsider and made to feel like one too. I looked to see if there was any BLM statement on LinkedIn, because I would have been absolutely shocked if there were to be one - HR has been made aware of racist remarks or discrimination even if it’s just micro aggressions. When confronting anyone of their actions, you can tell this is NOT spoken of in the company. Things may have changed, but I was wildly uncomfortable every day I worked in that office and overhearing conversations both behind closed doors and in public. There are leaders that truly bust their butt to make it better and are very smart, but there are so many road blocks - and some of those are other leaders that got to their positions because they know how to sell themselves. It’s a joke. Every day felt like a joke. I had to make peace with becoming a parrot which is when I got applauded and praised...when I was a yes man. It really depends on your work ethic and personality if you will like it here...dig deep, read the above, and then you’ll know your answer.
