Pros

The people are great! I cherish the friendships I made there.

Cons

Where do I even begin? - Overworked with impossible deadlines - Upper management is corrupt to the core - Sick partner and/or kids and want to work from home? Too bad. They claim it's not productive even though upper management and executives are allowed to work from home. - If upper management decides that they don't like you, be prepared to be accused of things you didn't do and threatened with termination if you discuss with the "accusing" party. - I used to think the line from "I have eight different bosses" from Office Space was a joke until I started working here. Expect to get different directions from different managers/executives and then get chewed out when nothing gets done. - Nepotism is a huge problem.

Pros

401k match networking with others across the US

Cons

The employer benefits declined Remote work is only available for select people No competitive pay, they will low ball you. Annual reviews only allow you to get UP to a 4% increase, and new job promotions will only allow you UP to a 6% There are too many pay gaps which is going to violate CA Law in 2023 Lots of nepotism Company is planning on tracking software and not able to communicate about it to employees The CEO is very controlling and there is not a board of directors for checks and balances with his controlling tendencies Internal HR is a mess and is restricted to what they can do as the CEO will not set up internal employees for success, i.e. I am very surprised someone has not sued over the treatment of LOAs. Employees are only granted better pay increases when threatening to leave and even though the CEO may approve it, this is not fixing the problem. It is only contributing to the problem further. There has been constant layoffs and outsourcing to other countries with no explanation or announcements which is concerning as if they are being compliant with WARN or not. This is not a very inclusive work place as leadership is only able to attend events and summits throughout the year. The environment is very toxic but the CEO believes there is great culture due to the leadership summits.

Pros

I worked for this company for over a year and every month got progressively worse. Within 2 months of minimal training, my boss and the entire executive team who I worked closely with quit. Over time, we lost many valuable employees due to constant fluctuations in business hierarchy and poor management, including most of the payroll team. This caused the Client Relations dept to lose many reputable clients; without anyone to process payroll, our clients employees would not get paid and so began the cascading effect of losing clients daily. It felt illegal that clients who were paying Vensure to process their payroll would usually end up with incorrect payroll or no payroll at all. It became very apparent in the client relations dept that we had absolutely no control over retention of clients, due to this constant issue across the company. Based on company decisions, my impression of the CEO is greedy to absorb as many division partners as possible, without first taking the time to ensure that existing employees and departments are staying afloat. The continuous acquisition has caused many hardworking respectful employees to be overworked and underpaid (think 60+ hr weeks for parents). There is also no culture other than stressful environments and the 'housewives of chandler' which consist of executives who talk badly about eachother and do whatever they can to get ahead. It's actually really sad and sets a toxic work environment for the rest of the teams. I was also not impressed with the company's internal CRM and found that the Sales/Implementation team would sell the client on a CRM that had all the 'bells and whistles' and could do everything. However, once the client was pushed off to the Client Relations manager, the client would be disappointed to hear that the CRM could not do everything that Sales/Implementations had promised. The reporting functionality was tedious, outdated and created a lot of manual 'excel magic' for anyone trying to find simple data to suite the clients requests. The CTO is also a moron. I left this company because I did not believe in their internal CRM, the lack of values, and overall frustration of the disorganized company. And finally, I was promoted to a senior position and it took 6 months for the executive team and internal payroll processor to give me a raise. And no, I did not receive backpay for my additional 6 months of work.

Cons

Work-life balance, lack of culture, toxic environment

Thank you for sharing your feedback. For a company that moves as fast as we do, there are bound to be some challenges along the way, as you mentioned. But we know we would not be where we are, or as successful as we are, without our amazing team members across the US and Canada. We understand how difficult it can be to have a manager or senior leader exit the company when you are just getting started. That must have been very confusing and upsetting for you. Definitely not an experience you were expecting when starting a new position. Upholding company values, improving company culture, and setting a positive example for employees is an area most companies view as a continuous growth opportunity—there are always ways we can do better. We are sorry your time with us was cut short, but we definitely value your feedback and wish you the best in your future career endeavors. If you have any additional suggestions or would like to discuss any of these points further, please do not hesitate to reach back out to our internal HR team. Best of luck!
