Pros

Employee discount on great product Some contests/perks Bonus program

Cons

Loved working for this company until last year. For the last 11 months has been constant turnover from both the field and HQ. What was recently shared to me from my DM (one of the originals) was that our executive team and our new field directors have communicated that they are “expecting 90% of lower management to be looking for another job and by next year they will have achieved more than 70% new staff to be running their stores.” This is durning a huge transition of our company in it’s restoration project too! We have no ideal how the market will respond to the new changes and to be frank, the executives don’t even know. It’s a real gamble during the worst time where most stores are seeing double digit decreases in both traffic and transactions with difficult margins. If this is what my bosses think of both my peers and myself, yea we will be looking for other opportunities. The new VP of sales is also enacting new “accountabilities” on sales teams if there is no leverage which this will be very interesting to see.

Pros

-Discount -Bonus when you can actually make your month -contests for Vera money or merchandise -if you work in a good store you will make some great connections with the ladies you work with and meet some amazing customers. -some benefits - like matching donations to charities up to a certain amount, volunteer time..,

Cons

-not able to leave the store for a break (management) -no work life balance - having to recruit new customers or outreach on your own time, schedules and processing time cards from home. -must open or close by yourself -no time to train staff and other management members since you only work with them 25% of the time -company wastes more time a pet project of theirs in hopes it will make our jobs in-store easier. It does not help and actually hinders what we are trying to accomplish. Worst of all, you can not speak up about it as they will tell you that you have not “mastered the program.” You have to wait once a year when you can do anonymous feedback card to the company. -not the company I signed up for years ago, not about customer service (just money, money, money) -You will come in and find out that you will be laid off in 3 days. All around the same time that you have a floorset, reviews, and inventory. -Store Managers must do their job and the old assistant’s job since they now are only allowed 2 part time team leads. Because of this there is now no succession plan for the store and god forbid something happens to the SM. Who will be available to take care of the store? How does one even go on vacation?

Pros

The store level team I work with is awesome!!! 50% discount is pretty sweet! Some what flexible schedule but new management structure probably will change that.

Cons

Corporate comes off like they don’t know what they are doing by changing marketing at the very last minute and laying off all assistant managers affective immediately. Because of this most team leads are going to have to work full time hours anyway with the added responsibilities. Part time gets zero benefits.
