A lot of cut hours, even on full time employees, because the company is not making enough money.
Overall, very poor, unorganized management. A lot of miscommunication or no communication at all.
Favoritism. There are people working there that have really bad attitudes and a crazy amount of tardies/absences, but management likes them, so all is well.
Always changing things but with no real direction or good results.
Unforgiving attendance policy; can't be even a single minute late.
Stock room often an unsafe work zone because of the boxes that piled up. I once had a 25 pound box actually fall on my neck/shoulder and then a mallet fell two inches away from my head.
No real break room. Often sat on boxes by the lockers for breaks and lunches.
After working for more than a year, didn't get much of a pay raise. Worked there for almost two years and only got that one raise (and it wasn't just me, it was everyone on the team).
Stopped giving free Vera Bradley products and providing food/drinks at store meetings, because the company couldn't afford it.
No time-and-half or any sort of holiday pay. Got rewarded with Vera Bucks, which was like Monopoly money that you could use only at your own store. Vera Bucks usually came very late.
Company is manufacturing products that are much lower quality, that look and feel like knockoffs, but marketing them as "factory exclusive."
