The owners only care about money and growth. Their ads have all this info about training and affiliations, they do not have the knowledge or ability to train their current staff. They are so money hungry and unethical that they stopped serving Medicare/Medicaid children because they did not receive as high of a billing rate as insurance companies. They literally stopped serving the children most in need because it helped their bottom line. Somehow many other companies thrive while serving both clients, but not Nick and Diana, they care more about a new, shiny office than clients, employees, or ethics!

Verbal Beginnings did stop providing Medicaid services in 2016, however, we continued working with families for free until treatment could be successfully transferred to other providers. We are working hard on sharing a successful, balanced business with our employees. The focus of a human service agency is placed first and foremost on the quality of care to our clients and staff satisfaction. We hope that our employees will continue to see that and take advantage of the opportunities they are provided to grow professionally. It seems like we get updates on a monthly basis about new things rolling out at Verbal Beginnings. We're given a lot of opportunities for professional development, experience working with clients of different abilities, and various different fields within ABA. I just got started less than a year ago, but there seems to be a lot of opportunity for growth within the company which is exciting because I want to become a BCBA. I love coming to work and the best part is the clients I get to work with.

Cons

Fast-paced instruction gets a little getting used to.

I cannot think of any. Literally none.

-BCBAs are poorly trained. -RBTs are poorly trained. -Programs only need to be updated once every 6 months, which is utterly pathetic. -BCBAs are hardly supervised. -Scheduling is an unprofessional disaster, as others have mentioned. -VB has a very laissez faire, unsystematic approach to programming, which is simply not how ABA works.

While formal programming reports to insurance are required on a 6-month basis, rest assured that BCBAs at Verbal Beginnings are continuously monitoring and updating programming as needed for clients. Thanks to feedback like yours regarding training for staff, we created a Clinical Coordinator role to provide BCBA oversight.
