      Out of Control Internal Management

      Good co-workers - hardworking people

      Upper management has lost all control on internal situations from all departments. They do not know how to lead or manage the current headquarter location nor the satellite locations. The IT/computer equipment and computer software are considered dinosaurs. Logistic company at its finest. No sizable sales growth since the merger. Human Resources are in disarray and no organization for employee management or help. The merger happened years ago and no other company still uses merger excuses almost 4 (?) years later. The handbook is not enforced by management, there is no uniformity throughout the departments, and management does not care. No training, high turnovers, and a lot of blame.

Our CEO and senior leadership understand the fatigue around the merger, but the five-year strategy to integrate and optimize the business is typical among mergers of this size. There's a lot of work to integrate and improve systems - including IT - and the integration phase is due to be complete by the end of year - right on schedule. We encourage you to hang in there. The past two quarters have shown growth, and as Veritiv enters the optimization phase of the strategy, we hope that will continue.       Not a Packaging Sales company - rather an Exit Strategy for investors

      Pros

      There are some good people there - although very frustrated as the company makes decisions based on an excel spreadsheet and not the customers or future of employees.

      Cons

      Xpedx and Unisource merged to create Veritiv 5 years ago. This was an exit strategy by International Paper and Bain Capitol to unload their investment in each company. They are trying to time the selling of shares of Veritiv stock to unload their investment. Management is not open to ideas or culture or the future. They don't invest in advertising or internet visibility. They do not value expertise or product knowledge of their sales reps. They only care about squeezing one more penny out of the spreadsheet. They do not realize that the sales team is who gave them the numbers to play with on the spreadsheet in the first place. Are you a good sales rep? Are you a good customer service rep? Are you a good warehouse worker? Find a company that is looking forward more then just the next 2 years - you will probably find a company with a better culture and outlook.

      Field Sales Force Exceptional and Supplier Base as good as it gets

      Cons

      President down to upper management can’t spell the word Sales much less clueless on a strategy on how to support sales, the only revenue stream in the company
