Pros

-Benefits are above average (healthcare, 401K, etc.) -Compensation is still above average in the industry. You have the ability to make $200+ -You can be entrepreneurial in terms of accounts you call on and products you sell them. I found this attractive as you are not catalogue selling (Uline, Grainger, etc.). You are typically providing custom solutions that bring value aside from the lowest price. -The private label products are a huge advantage. "Tufflex" is one of the best programs/offerings that Veritiv has.

Cons

-There's a lot to be honest. I was successful at Veritiv and they treated me well but there were a ton of frustrations that led me to be recruited elsewhere. -In my opinion, Veritiv is full of below-average talent. If you are a driven individual, you will be frustrated that your coworkers are not at the same level in terms of intelligence and work ethic. -Slow moving/lot of red tape selling experience. -This is not a sales organization. For those of you in sales - you should know what this means. Leadership does not have a sales background/focus. -As a large distributor, Veritiv does not do one thing particularly well. "Jack of all trades, master of none" is applicable here. This makes selling in this environment difficult as end users have become better at sourcing and not valuing the "one stop shop" idea.

Terrible Culture

Pros

Decent wage, peers were good people and that is were it ends.

Cons

Upper management and leadership were not equipped to deal with the poor culture that was still inherent from the Unisource / XPEDX "merger". The good ole boys club is still in effect and don't even think about speaking your mind as the old crony's will weed you out.

Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry you had a less than optimal experience at Veritiv. Our culture is a priority, and it is driven by our Veritiv values; they shape how we do business. And, thanks to our hardworking and dedicated Veritiv team members, despite the challenges across all businesses due to COVID-19, Veritiv announced record full year 2020 Net Income and record second quarter 2021 Net Income.

Pros

Plenty of work to get through the day. Enough challenge to keep you on your toes Co workers!!! Flexibility

Cons

Management does not take the time to learn processes or what employees deal with on a day to day basis. Yet they will make metrics based on false/incorrect data and they dictate processes without knowing what needs to be done or what is actually doable. Management is hands down the reason I left and a large majority of people leave.
