Pros

Employee discount on plans, tuition reimbursement, 401k, paid time off, discounts on accessories (not phones). Immersed in technology, sometimes managers buy food on busy days

Cons

VERY unrealistic quotas. Must not only meet target quota for upgrades and new lines of service, but also quotas for accessories per device, type of plan, insurance on devices and asking them to "rate you" on a survey that they might get. Supervisors have to stand by and listen to your interactions. You need to word certain things in a certain way. All of that, every. single. day. If you fail to meet the metrics you'll get written up which everyone does at some point. High turn over rate, everyone I knew left the company. Cmon Verizon step it up

Pros

Always busy, a good variety of projects available to keep your skills current, decent pay.

Cons

No upward mobility. As Verizon takes further control they continue replacing smart VZW folks with overpaid Verizon people (who have no idea what they're doing). There is no room for growth. There is a hiring and salary freeze unless you are a relative of one of the Indian employees (like another reviewer said), or you fit some 'diversity' criteria. I am training folks two pay grades above me, but am not compensated in any way for it. I am instead told it isn't the right time for a raise or title change (same excuse I've heard for a couple years now). But the people getting promoted during a freeze have to ask me to teach them their job?! If I refuse, I am threatened that this is 'other duties as deemed necessary' and that insubordination is grounds for termination. Talk about a kick in the balls...

Pros

Great Benefits. Decent starting hourly pay. Efficient paid training period. Too busy most days to fight over sales. Diverse and amazing staff.

Cons

There is little to no positive coaching and way too much micromanaging. If you ever so much as look like you did something less than perfect, you get written up. Every rep, no matter how perfect will be ridiculed and put down by management. No matter what you accomplish it will never be good enough. If you're over 150% on 5 out of 6 areas you will have to explain why you're a failure to the higher ups and put on watch. Even if you manage to please the bosses, the customers will still hate you because you work for a large cell phone provider.
