Pros

Management is wonderful and almost always available if you have any questions. Employees at clinics are very nice and accommodating! If you enjoy working with different people and can adapt quickly to new environments this is a great job. Being able to communicate with new people is key to being successful at this job. Benefits are good and having a flexible schedule is great.

Cons

Travel can be difficult if you live in the Springs especially in the winter. Almost all clinics are located in Denver/Front Range areas. If you don’t mind travel that isn’t much of an issue, but gas is not covered.

Thank you for your feedback! We are working very hard on getting more shifts for you in the Colorado Springs area, so please keep an eye out. We really value your commitment, and please remember if you're traveling more than 45 miles one way for a shift you can always request a travel bonus! As always, reach out to your Account Manager if you need any help with this.

Love working for VSS

Pros

Great flexibility and variety, competitive pay, 401 K benefits started this year , don't need to be full time to get, just need to have worked a certain amount of hrs to qualify for. PTO given depending on hours worked. Gives you the opportunity to work at different places and find a clinic you might want to be permanent at. No need to ask for time off or worry about finding coverage since you just don't pick up shifts in that case! Opportunity to make more depending on shifts (overnights, swings, weekends) or if you take last minute shifts some of them sometimes have call-in bonuses. Overall love working for VSS more than when I was full time in private practice.

Cons

The Pro's outweigh the cons in my opinion..but here are some: Shifts can get cancelled on you anytime, even if you picked up the shift months in advance, and you wont get paid for it unless it's within 24 hrs of the shift when the cancellation occurs. So then you might be left without work/compensation on occasion. The type of person who does relief needs to be ok with this aspect. They need to be ok with uncertainty, always flexible, changing clinics regularly- not a lot of shifts in the winter. May need to be willing to drive farther for some jobs.

Thank you for sharing your experience with our team. We are thrilled to hear that you are enjoying the work you're able to do through VSS! Shift cancellations can be a pain. We work very hard to either get you the compensation you were planning on. In the event that your shift is canceled, please reach out to your Account Manager, they will help you get re-assigned to another location, or get you the cancellation fee you deserve. Remember, for doctors, you receive 1/3 of the shift as a cancellation fee if it's canceled with less than 1 week's notice, and reimbursement for the full shift if it's canceled with less than 72 hours notice. As always, if you have any questions about this, don't hesitate to reach out to your Account Manager for guidance. Thank you for being a part of our team!
