Pros

Flexible schedule, I love the clients, great company culture.

Cons

People whom the company believes performs well and has seniority at the company should be able to qualify for a raise. I hate that raises are not given regularly and that bonuses are a supplement to a raise. I understand that sometimes a raise is not always feasible, but some type of raise should be given to hard working employees.

Thank you for your post, I really appreciate your thoughts. I would love to be able to give raises more regularly. Unfortunately, we are reimbursed 100% by the government and have not had rate increase in years. Most providers had to go to the model solely to stay in business. Our trade associations are getting more aggressive to seek rate increases so we can compensate people for the incredible work they do. It is a sad state of affairs when our hard working employees cannot be recognized for their great work when competitors in other industries can simply raise their prices to account for raises. I can assure you I am fighting as hard as I can to get our legislature to reimburse us adequately. Thank you again for your post

Pros

flexible schedule, accrued vacation time, experience working with a diverse population.

Cons

very high director turnover, demands of the job don't allow a work/home life, employees are expected to work late at night in order to make job requirements, little to no support from senior level staff, senior level staff aren't involved in team meetings that address concerns, too many changes without proper training, bonus expectations are too high, high turnover causing caseloads to change greatly, overtime is not given, mileage is only given at .35 per mile, no yearly cost of living increase. no raises available.

Thank you for your post, I really appreciate it. As I indicated in other posts, I would love to give annual raises and compensate better, but we are 100% funded by the government and they have not increased our rates in years. We are working hard to get reimbursement increased so we can adequately compensate our incredible employees. You bring up a lot of other issues that have not been brought up before so I will look into those issues immediately. Thank you again for your post.

Thank you for your post. Compassion absolutely needs to be at the forefront everything we do in healthcare. Hospice is such an incredible service and we are so fortunate to have great nurses delivering compassionate, quality care around the clock. I am sorry your experience was not good with our Hospice Operations, but I can assure you that your experience was the exception and not the rule. Our Hospice turnover is very low and our employee/patient satisfaction is very high. Thank you again for your post
