Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts, especially on company culture. Collaboration and respect for colleagues are pillars of the culture we’re all working to create at Vida. We’re happy to report that we’ve added a 401K plan. We also upgraded our healthcare benefits to “gold” and “platinum” insurance plans, and we now cover 100% of the cost of employees’ insurance.

Pros

A lot to learn about digital health space. Excellent self challenge as teams are small. Paid lunches are here everyday. Entire company is fun.

Cons

Not sure where leadership wants to bring the company. Many people have left in the past month without explanations. Teams are getting scarce. Limited office space and very loud environment. Way too many people in product and engineering while scarce in other departments. Going through re-structure without asking employees what they want.

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes, we’ve had a few departures. But Vida’s retention levels are actually high by Bay Area standards – average employee tenure exceeds industry average in the area. As a young company grows and evolves, there will always be some employees who might not grow with it. And the company thrives on new talent. At Vida, we go out of our way to reward high-performing employees, and they’re staying. As for noise level, this should have noticeably improved when we expanded onto a second floor to accommodate our growth. Thank you again for your feedback.

Pros

Good market space with a lot of oppurtunities to grow. Very fast pace and exciting work being done on application.

Cons

Leadership tends to make decisions that does not benefit the employees. Seems a bit confused at what is really happening and what direction we want to move towards.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the many positives around market space, growth potential, and importantly about the exciting product work being done. As for areas of improvement, we have done multiple employee surveys and have implemented a lot of positive changes that arose from them - first and foremost being more deliberate communication between leadership and employees. We want a culture where all employees are comfortable having open conversations, invariably leading to better outcomes for all. We have consolidated the office locations into one central office in downtown San Francisco which has led to a much more productive work environment. Our recent benefits review resulted in 100% cost coverage for employee health insurance and introduction of a 401K plan. Thanks again for your thoughts and for your work contributions.
