Pros

There were a lot of great folx at VillageMD HR department, but they recently had a change over of leadership which focused more on the company than the human side of Human Resources.

Cons

Recent leadership changes in the HR department made it difficult to feel heard/seen. Too much focus on potential growth instead of nurturing the talent you currently had. Expanded too much too fast, leading them to miss financial goals & needing to lay off new employees. I had been job hunting for almost 2 years and was so excited about my new position & was devastated when 6 months later I was let go because they could no longer afford to pay anyone for the position I worked. Bad planning & bad judgement.

Pros

Executive Team’s vision for Primary Care is unique, remarkably noble and incredibly aspirational. Inspiring to hear some of the co-founders discuss their vision. There are some really solid people at VMD who are passionate about Healthcare, and try their best every day to improve the health of patients. Lots of credit to the physicians and clinical operators. So much potential to have a positive impact on Primary Care – I’m still a big fan of the mission!

Cons

Technology and Data leadership seems like a small “band of brothers”, toxic and have very little accountability within an immediate circle. There seems to be very little product strategy and leadership. The age old cliché of culture transcends from the top across the org is very true at VMD, with very nascent technology leadership, the place is frothing with bad actors, poor performers, and politics, as a result nothing ever gets done.

Pros

Learn new EMR system, Walgreens is next door.

Cons

Management favoritism, OVER WORKED, Intoxicated NP not held accountable, No Consistency in Training, Overturn is Super High, No appreciation, NO Schedule coordination, HR is very Condescending, Rude, and No help. They would rather have employees who join the mean girl club and have High school clicks than to have real hard working Staff. VM is more about how much Money they are making before actually providing the Clinic with working systems like trained Leads and Management, call center is no help when they are hired staff across the country not in the US. Providers Quit because they do not have a system that works for providing Consistent Patient care. It's More like urgent care and rushed care. Patients will leave and find other Dr's because Village medical does not keep good dependable workers. Texas VM needs to rethink their process on how clinic managers run their clinic. The Director does not manage well enough to ask Medical assistants how are things really going on. They are the face of the company at the end of day and they would know best.

As a new leader overseeing Texas, I am eager to meet with our teams throughout the market – listen to our staff, leaders, and providers on what is needed to make critical and sustainable improvement in our operational processes and our culture. I am exceptionally proud of the work that I have seen thus far and the incredible dedication that everyone has providing to support each other and the patients we serve every day!
