Pros

- innovative company working to transform the way healthcare is delivered. Forward thinking team members and leadership. - still feels like a start-up even though we are a few years old. Leadership empowers the entire organization to seek out what interests us and contribute to the company in exciting ways - very intelligent staff with extensive experience working for top insurance, healthcare, and consulting companies

Cons

- due to the innovation going on in the healthcare space right now, the learning curve can be steep

It’s not an NFL team

Pros

Run by physicians so if you’re a physician they cater to you and treat you well.

Cons

Top leadership is primarily lead by this weird metaphor that VillageMD is an NFL team. They use this metaphor to rationalize riding employees into the ground for 1-2 years before burning them out. They sincerely feel employees should view working at the company as the greatest privilege ever bestowed on them. Leadership can’t take in any negative feedback because they feel everyone is lucky, nay blessed, to be at Village (like if you grew up in TX and made it to the Dallas Cowboys, ‘Who are you to complain?! Such insolence!’), This NFL concept is discussed frequently, openly and passionately. They do not understand why it is not motivational for the rank and file. The company has gotten multiple huge cash infusions but none of that has trickled down to the underlings. The boys club at the top are the only people with equity. There’s no spirit of teamwork or collaboration across teams. It’s a cutthroat environment.

Pros

Benefits are good. Clinic Managers really care about their employees but upper management does not listen to anyone.

Cons

They are burning out employees and have a high turnover. They acquire all sorts of practices and then move on to the next one without caring for the practices they just acquired. Sure, they have a 5 billon dollar contract with Walgreens but they don't pay people equally for doing the same job.
