Pros

The work is interesting and the coworkers are generally smart and nice.

Cons

The structure is flat, so nobody knows who reports to who. There's a lot of bullying because of this where various people try to push around others who don't report to them. It can get a bit out of hand. Projects get cancelled, uncanceled, approved, unapproved depending on the general mood of some large group of people. It's really hard to get someone with authority to establish a course of action and stick with it.

Pros

I come from their ITG side of business(Analytics) which still operates as separate entity and that has just zero pros. Virtu as an organization is fast paced, easy going. If you want to make difference you get chance to drive initiative. Perks during pandemic were great. I felt they cared for employee during that time.

Cons

Their Analytic business lacks vision. Neither they manage to increase revenue in last 5 year nor motivation of employees. It's a sinking ship. Technology and Virtu(Analytics) are 2 side of earth's pole never meant to meet. Tech understanding is so low that most of managers and team members don't have idea on version control using Git or having a CI/CD pipeline. Leaders are old school and still operate on technology which are obsolete 10 years back. No care on career growth of employees. Managers keep promising on taking care of their employee but Lay off's can happen on any day of the year. Virtu as an organization is always on look out for lay off's almost every quarter. Working hours are long and pay is below market.

Pros

Lots of nice and smart people and great amenities.

Cons

Lack of direction - figure it out for yourself attitude. Passive aggressiveness from some superiors (and some other entree level colleagues). Anti-social and unhealthy work environment (everyone just sitting by their computers 12-14 hours a day and hardly speaking - communication via jabber even if people are sitting right next to each other).
