Pros

Blue cross blue shield benefits matching retirement

Cons

The sales targets were unrealistic and the CEO is running the company into the ground. He does not care about the employees. The company is run like an oppressive dictatorship. Years ago, new ideas were welcome and different perspectives were heard. The last 5 years or so the company has been on a downward trajectory. While I left the company, friends still there report that the company and culture are continuing to deteriorate - more oppressive, more authoritarian, more controlling - all the things professionally and personally you do NOT want. Stay away. The jobs out there offer better companies and cultures elsewhere.

Pros

Great co workers and the business cause is unmatched. Fair PTO, standard benefits, new office space, garage parking, and nice break room areas.

Cons

Ironically the best part about Vizient has turned into its biggest con; leadership. Lack of appreciation, career growth, support and mentorship from leadership at the director level. “Leadership” has been significantly declining in the quality of those who are people managers. Your department and manager will have a big impact on your experience at Vizient. Change is not made unless you demand it and you will not move or grow your career unless you take charge of your own path.

Great place to get terminated

Pros

The company has an interesting ("different") and generally good culture. As an example everyone takes a personality test called "Personalysis" or something like that and you can look up other people's to best figure out how to approach them. Good start PTO and salary was average or better.

Cons

In the marketing department they started terminating people left and right before I was there, while I was there and after I was there. It was people who had been there long term, medium term and short term. Of the ones I know about, things seem at least somewhat sketchy in terms of why they are being terminated. Apparently the place was once somewhere it was almost impossible to get fired, but now it's the polar opposite where they terminate all the time. And HR seems there to back management, regardless of bad behaviour on the part of management. Another example of the 'leadership' (directors through EVP) of the marketing department - they are all hard-core advocates of the open office concept yet not a single one of them sits in the open office, they all hide in their private offices and disregard the complaints of the disruptiveness of that environment.
