Pros

I've met a lot of fun people working here, and gained friendships along the way. Unfortunately a lot of those that have made it fun to work with, have already left or are leaving.

Cons

Senior management doesn't listen, nor care. The company can be/is very unethical at times. They're cheap. A lot of people only get the positions they do, because the timing was right (i.e. Someone having left and they needed someone to fill that role), not because they were actually qualified or a good fit for the position. This in turn, causes many other issues. They rarely fire employees even when an employee has been reported to HR many many times for serious reasons, so once you give someone that position you're likely stuck with them until they leave on their own.

Pros

The company had a great vision and it was exciting working for a growing company, until their stock crashed a year and a half ago. I had a great starting position as I started my career. I had tremendous success the first 3 years there. I will be willing to publish documentation to the public to back up my statements on this review.

Cons

Local Management is incompetent. After being successful at a corporate role, I was promoted to an inside sales and relocated. When I got there, I got no support, guidance, training, and coaching from manager and my fellow teammates were not helpful at all. Only after a handful of months in my new role, I had no intention of leaving as my performance numbers were improving and I was loyal to the company. They then started making up bogus statements about me and my work ethic. Keep in-mind that I have manager reviews that was fantastic for working at the company for the previous 3 years and I have a compete turnaround on weird accusations on the review with this one. I did not see it coming, but they let me go after they made these ridiculous charges against me (Which I have the documentation and will be willing to publish them to the public). Be warned, do not relocate for this company as they will throw you in the streets after an expensive relocation. They will even try to block you from getting unemployment benefits. I took them to court and won because the charges were a complete lie and they had no evidence ( I will publish these documents to the public as well). Right now, with a little experience under my belt, I work for a way better company, I get better pay and benefits and I thought that the bad experience they I went through was just a joke.

Pros

WESCO is a large company with locations all of the US and many abroad. There are opportunities for jobs most anywhere that you relocate. There are the normal benefits of large corporations in respect to medical, dental, retirement, etc. WESCO is involved in multiple verticals with buying power that includes an incredible supplier base.

Cons

Employee morale is at the all time low. Executive management has executed change in far to many areas at once and there is no overall management of these changes to ensure they work in unison. There is mimimal communitcation to the "field" of the vision and any communication comes with very open ended statements and no concrete direction or commitments. Rumors dominate every day. It is very hard to be optimistic. Short sighted decisions are made based on stock numbers and local and midlevel management are no longer valued. Incentive plans for Branch and Sales Managers have been slashed. The company is managed by Human Resources and Operational groups. HR that has set the standard that hard working, over acheiving individuals that were brought into entry level positions or placed in the wrong position initially before their talents were found can not be promoted and awarded the financially the same as a candidate off the street. The Procurement, Pricing, and Financial Services groups make dangerous decisions on a daily basis that result in service interruptions and unhappy customers. The organic sales declines that have occured as these groups have been allowed to make structural decisions are not a coincidence. Thinking otherwise is like thinking the planet is not heating up.
