We’re concerned that your needs are not being addressed and we would respectfully request you share your thoughts with Human Resources. I assure you that we will be responsive and transparent in our response. If you ever feel intimated at WGI, we urge you to proactively report it. If you are at all concerned with confidentiality, please use the ethics hotline on WGI’s website and an external board of director will speak with you. Remote work is unique to every person, timing, role and need. So, you are correct, there is not a consistent approach to remote work. Rather, we remain open to every request and flexible in our approach. WGI knows we are better together, and safety in our designs is always at the forefront. We do ask that our team appreciate that public infrastructure is a unique practice, and the delivery of a safe project often requires regular communication, teamwork, training and mentoring - all of which typically are better in person.

Wow, we’re quite surprised by your post. While we would encourage you to share your feelings with your supervisor, and if appropriate with HR, it appears you and WGI are not aligned. While unfortunate, our core values start with a Passion For People. We care about every team member and we never want anyone to feel “It’s a job.” WGI isn’t for everyone, and in your case it may be best if you considered options that would meet your expectations.

We’d certainly like to hear more from you. By all means, please post with specificity that allows us to publicly address your thoughts. At times, the employer/associate relationship simply isn’t a match. This is one of those instances. We sincerely hope your next position is everything you envision.
