Pros

The people I work with on a daily basis are great. Smart, hard working, dedicated, social, not too young or old. The Fenway area is lively and has plenty of lunch and after work options. The office view is phenomenal. State of the art hardware that's far more interesting to work with than plenty of other options in the industry.

Cons

Leadership can't seem to make up its mind on where it wants the company to go. There's been a whirlwind of leadership hires and exits. While I give a huge amount of credit to the founder-CEO, seems like he's drank too much of his own koolaid lately. Commute to Kenmore can suck and they've recently instituted a 4-day RTO policy. IMO they're going to lose a lot of solid senior level folks with the decision. It's tough to run a hardware company like a software startup and I feel like that attitude is going to catch up with them eventually.

Pros

Great people who work throughout the company. Good Benefits and they pride themselves on making sure fitness is a plus.

Cons

No work-life balance- The hours that you work will not be ideal for a regular life outside of work. The number one complain from people throughout the company is this and no one in upper manager has listened. Low pay Lack of communication throughout the company- You will not learn about things that are going on with the company until it is happening or sometimes you would learn from members. No Holidays off/ Hard to get PTO days off, even when you schedule months in advance. Hard to advance in the company- I have seen great people and workers who have been with the company for 2+ years and have never been able to move up. Upper management will spread rumors that they have new openings coming and never do.

Micromanaging and it’s finest

Pros

The TM’s and the agents are great to work with and easy to get along. Working from home is also nice.

Cons

They are constantly changing their policies and the new higher up management is really micromanaging everything we do. So, if you like breathing room, this isn’t the job for you. They also do not cover any home office fees for working from home. Personally, my electric bill has gone up significantly since working from home. Pay is also low compared to other companies. If you want to move up in the company and get out of the MSR world, you will have to move to Boston and go in office. There is also the fear of being fired at any moment with no notice.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your experience with us. We value our employees' feedback and strive to create a positive work environment for everyone. We're pleased you enjoy working with our team members, including the Team Managers and Membership Services Representatives. Building a cohesive and supportive workforce is essential, and we appreciate your recognition of this aspect. While change is sometimes necessary for growth and improvement, we acknowledge that too many changes can impact employee morale. We strive to communicate change clearly and transparently, taking the time to explain the “why” but appreciate that there may be room for improvement. With respect to your comment about compensation, we continuously benchmark our compensation packages to ensure they remain competitive within the industry and utilize a compensation philosophy that we believe wholeheartedly in. We also have clear career paths and ladders for folks at all levels of the organization, including remote employees. If you would like more information about this, please get in touch with your Manager directly. Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback.
