Pros

Most folks there are good poeple and well-intended. Even the callout of lack of authentic diversity efforts.

Cons

The DEI talk is "Just Talk." This is a company that prides itself on "company culture" and history, however, that should be interpreted as a "red flag" for lack of innovation to change and be inclusive. No clear goals around DEI and therefore the focus is on an annual company event and incredible micro-managing. Literally . . . Micro-management to the point of insulting one's intelligence and ability. Also, recruiting and onoarding efforts, tools and processes are not up-to-date and lack an effort to enhance metrics related to Time-to-Fill and candidate (and manager) experience .

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear our efforts to advance diversity, equity and inclusion during your time here fell short of expectations. We remain committed to addressing systemic racism and to an inclusive culture where we help our employees and leaders learn and grow in these areas. Earlier this year we shared a roadmap with all of our leaders, detailing our plans with DEI, including our employee demographic data and goals to improve diversity, as well as what we’ve accomplished in the past year, including making some great strides especially in hiring veterans, people of color and women in technology and in promoting women and people of color. This is a journey we plan to continue on, setting goals and taking actions in order to make real, sustained change. Thank you for urging us on to do better and to be better. In the areas of recruiting and onboarding, we have dedicated more time to process improvements, full use of our systems, and increased our staffing to be more responsive to our hiring leaders’ needs and to enhance the candidate experience.

We’re happy to hear your positive feedback on our leadership, benefits, and career advancement opportunities here at WSECU. Supporting our team members’ work-life balance is another important aspect of culture, and we work to do this by offering generous paid leave and benefits so that employees can take care of themselves and their families. Some roles do require the employee’s physical presence in the office or branch to meet business needs, and we understand this may not be ideal for everyone, but we also have many positions that are partially or almost fully remote and may be a better fit for some employees. Thank you for your review and for your time spent working at WSECU!

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and we definitely agree about our great culture and team members here at WSECU! It sounds like you are not having the best experience in your role itself, and we’re sorry to hear that. Working in a contact center can certainly have its challenging days, along with the many rewarding ones. In order to provide great service to our members, our contact center is open until 7pm on weekdays. While employee preference is a factor in scheduling, due to business needs it may not always be possible to assign every employee their top choice of shift. However, shifts are set on a quarterly basis, so there is the opportunity for change. If you are interested in sharing your ideas on how we may be able to improve, we encourage you to reach out to your leadership.
