Pros

This is by far the best banking institution I have ever worked for. High level of customer service and great camaraderie with co-worker. Incredible benefits and they take genuine care of their employees.

Cons

A distance from where I lived. I would have liked to been able to telecommute a few days a week.

Thanks so much for taking time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback and we're happy to hear that you've had a positive experience. Telecommuting is something that we do offer, depending on the role, and a number of other factors. We would encourage you to ask your leader if this is an option for you, if you haven't done so already.

Pros

WSECU has the best benefits, staff and members!!! I started with WSECU in 2011 as a contact center representative. With my supportive leader, who recognized my potential, encouraged my growth at the credit union. Within a year, I was promoted to the lending team which allowed me to think outside of the box to find solutions for our members. My leadership continued to encourage growth and allow me to continue to develop in my new role. A few years later I was promoted to lead member consultant. During this period, my leader continued to work with me through leadership training, mentoring and personality evaluations. In May of 2017, I had the opportunity to join the mortgage department to assist with developing a new team who specializes in home equities. Our team created training, procedures, process improvements, communication with other departments, helped improve turnaround times and member service. Within 7 months of creating the home equity team, I was promoted to manager. I don’t think of my work as a job, but as a career. WSECU has supportive leaders who encourages growth and career paths.

Cons

While growth opportunities are available, it’s not easy or fast for majority of the staff.

Wow! This is amazing feedback. We definitely strive to create an atmosphere that is supportive and engaging. We put a lot of thought and work into programs that develop leaders. We’re delighted that you’ve had such great leaders here who saw your potential and invested in your growth. Those opportunities are there, but as you said, it may take some time to move into leadership roles. We’re fortunate that many of our employees choose to stay with us and grow their careers—the flip side is that because people stay with us, it may take longer for opportunities to open up. However, if you’re flexible, hard-working and patient, there are many opportunities for growth.

Pros

Amazing atmosphere. Great people. Awesome CEO. Exceptional benefits. You’d have to be a moron to leave here - like me! (I relocated back to CA). ;)

Cons

The pay is not competitive check vs check - but you have to (a) weigh ALL the intangibles (benefits, etc) and (b) ENJOY your work environment!
