Pros

The people I work with are friendly, hardworking employees. Some have been there for 20 years plus

Cons

Low pay- have been in company for over 10 years and still get lower salary compare to new employees in same positions No bonus for all employees- in Finance, we all work other together to get to the bottom line so why is that management are awarded bonuses the same amount as someone salary $50k plus? Everyone else is awarded a whopping $50 ( pretax) - No more work life balance- was working hybrid schedule for many years with 2 days in office, 3 days remote. Was told to return to office 4 days come January 2024 in email right before Thanksgiving. Employees had no idea and input, many people with families have to find care for their little ones in short notice. Schools do not follow calendar schedule! No incentive, took away tuition reimbursement for masters program. - New president who started little over a year ago. Many chief officers “left” the company. 3 left at the same time who’ve been in the company for years . This all sounds suspicious to me. Think twice before you apply here. It’s a a dying company. Your hard work will go unnoticed and will not be compensated. Only select few will be awarded and move up in the ranks.

Pros

Employees are generally nice, including management and directors Pay is average

Cons

HR is very difficult to deal with. They limit employees hours to 37.5 instead of the normal 40, so be careful of that pay cut from normal jobs. Upper management is pretty bad, new CEO and HR leaders have caused a lot of issues. Went from 2 day hybrid working schedules to 4 days, without any discussion to employees. When Wakefern makes changes to anything, its usually posted on their website for people to leave comments. When this happened, it was posted but upper management decided to block comments from anyone, including employees. To my understanding, a lot of my fellow employees are looking elsewhere as well. CEO seems to only want to make a splash because he just started, so maybe doing this was his way of doing it? Please be wary of this company before applying on any level.

Pros

Good old school Wakefern employees and the benefits are good

Cons

Terrible work environment. Everyone is miserable due to the forcing of being back in office. Besides Plaza 7, the offices are disgusting. Bathrooms are filthy, office spaces are outdated with bugs and heating and air conditioning breaking every other week. There is no collaboration that they speak of since being back in the office. There has been 0 compassion for working mothers who actual live in 2024 where we can have a career and be available for our children and not be shamed for it. They are not filling roles and are expecting the other team members to take over without being compensated. Associate survey is one of the lowest ratings we ever had, but nothing is being done to fix it. LISTEN TO YOUR EMPLOYEES.
