Not the company it once was

Pros

Most people are friendly and there is plenty of knowledge to go around from people who've been there for a long time

Cons

Not the place it once was. They used to thrive on promoting from within, now they just he managers and directors for every position or made up department. Although they don't compete with others compensation wise but it was a good, friendly place to work with some work life balance, but now it's neither. You are underpaid and overworked. Upper management is out of touch pretending to care about the people but it's literally there way or no way and just trying to force their idea of "culture" and "fun" down everyone's throats and just expect everyone to cheer and applaud.

Pros

The associates I work with are genuinely nice, smart, hard working people.

Cons

Is there a character limit here bc this could go on forever. 1 - There is no direction to anything we do, make progress for the sake of making progress. 2 - Management is a joke, CIO and managers claim "our doors are always open" but are typically locked inside their offices all day. 3 - We received the most ridiculous speech about changing culture, nothing ever changes. 4 - No hopes of promotion or increase in salary ever. Moral of the story stay away at all costs.

Pros

This company used to be wonderful, until the new CEO, Mike Stigers came in.

Cons

Wakefern was once a company that treated employees like family. Longevity and loyalty were valued and it felt like we were truly providing a service that improved people’s lives. Once the new CEO Mike Stigers took over, all of that changed. He put more out of touch execs from outside the company into power. Their focus is no longer with retail and our corporate employees, stores and customers are suffering because of that. Divisional reorgs have turned into multiple rounds of layoffs and in office morale and flexibility is nonexistent. DO NOT WORK HERE!!!
