Pros

there are some good people

Cons

Extremely low pay while expecting 70+ hours from workers a week. HR and Walser claim to be about "People" but they misgender people, let sexual harassment slide, and only care about the money. NEVER work for walser. awful.

Thank you for contacting us. We're very sorry to hear your employee experience at Walser was anything short of exceptional. As a company, we strive to be a progressive retailer for both our customers and our employees. That focus on the employee experience truly begins at the top with our CEO and CHRO; we're disappointed to know you had an experience that reflected anything else. Our people-focused mission is supported not only with a full-time Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Specialist, but budget-funded Employee Resource Groups focused on the support and marginalized and minoritized communities (Women of Walser, Drive With Pride, and Mosaic). We take this feedback seriously and our CHRO Sherry Schultz would like the opportunity to speak with you directly to learn more. Please contact her at your convenience at sschultz@walser.com. Thank you.

Pros

Worked from home, set my own hours

Cons

There is no guidance whatsoever. Management sucks and fires people out of nowhere regularly. I moved across the country for this job and while I was here I’ve seen 6 people get fired and then myself let go out of a 9 person team within 1 year. That’s a 30% chance you won’t lose your job! I took medical leave because I hurt my back while in the Marine Corps. I was promised the ability to return to work and keep my position. Word for word: “ Hey xxx, thanks for the update. I hope everything is going ok and they get you taken care of pretty quick, sounds like a mess. The project is going well, same team still. Hang in there and keep me posted. We’re saving your spot 🙂” and was consistently reassured I could return. I was also told to take as much time as needed. While working here there is no development lead or management to ensure the best approach to the development of their new app and chose to let go someone who truly cared about their application and was dedicated just to outsource to Israel.
