Pros

Health Insurance is pretty decent, good that they try to motive employees to be healthy. Library work improved a lot in 8 years, interlibrary loans were super fast.

Cons

Too much drama among the high-rank staff. President had really bad relations with the VP, who was fired even though she was supposed to be an A+ professional, then another came along to do the damage control, but wasn't very successful. Professors are badly paid in the humanities. A person in marketing makes much more money than a professor teaching 4 classes. They don't value educators as much as they say, there is a culture of "don't push students too hard, a C grade is good enough, you should market yourself (as in be "popular") among students if you want to keep your job." Student Evaluations weigh more than excellent performance. There are no peer-evaluations or supervisor evaluations that give you feedback. Several excellent assistant professors quit or got fired in a term of 5-6 years when you are supposed to point towards tenure, but the toxic environment is just too much. Lots of politics and favoritism, junior faculty is mostly ignored during university meetings. It's a culture of cliques, a very isolating environment for young faculty members. Not as family friendly as they claimed to be during the hiring process.
