Challenging work. Products impact the quality of life. Industry pioneer and leader. Close-knit employee culture.

Cons

The company is growing to the next level and process and policy changes are being worked on as a result. things can seem disjointed at times because of this. The compensation is a little behind Boston/Cambridge-based Bio-Tech companies.

Pros

Some exposure to AWS, IAC and Terraform. Workload is light, don't expect to learn cutting edge technologies. Most of the software developers have been at Waters for greater than 5 years and significant percentage greater than 10 years.

Cons

Groups can be clickish. A lot of complaints about salary, advancement and upper management by the software developers. Most of the developers have an older technology framework knowledge, software process is slow which has led to missed deadlines. The last major software project was a disaster and never released.

If you like science, you'll like the work, it's really interesting. The current CEO is good, like an actual human being. Reasonably up-to-date software development tools.

Cons

The processes on products for regulated industries can be a bit arduous. Some people feel overworked (I don't personally).
