Pros

Great people in low-level (community management) roles. Free beer. Parties.

Cons

Everything else. Terrible work/life balance, delusional upper management, no pay for overtime despite regularly working 12+ hour days. They don't even tell you that the standard workday is 9-6 until your first day of work. CEO is a narcissist, too.

Pros

When you first start out, things seem really fun - happy hours, community events, supporting entrepreneurs and other community members. Free beer at work. Colleagues are usually nice and friendly when they're not being passive aggressive. Most of the members appreciate the community managers.

Cons

Passive aggressive colleagues, competitive culture instead of a collaborative one. Things behind the scenes are so disorganized, and employees don't feel empowered to change anything that needs fixing - very bureaucratic. The CEO is full of himself and is all talk - seems like the money has gotten to his head. There's a facade of community-building but it's all about filling up the space with people who have bought into the idea that they're going to be hip and cool because they can show off their office to their friends and family. I've heard and seen employees talk about the members behind their backs, and complain about the "customer service" side of things. Hello? That's our job - to help members do what they love.

Pros

Really nice office environment, and great young and energetic coworkers. Good healthcare benefits and plenty of small perks like food, alcohol, parties.

Cons

General disappointment with the executive team's lack of responsibility and desire on making this a truly exceptional company with great values and sustained long-term growth. Publicly, the company wraps itself in a veil of "community-building" and entrepreneurship encouragement. But behind the scenes, lies an unqualified executive team composed almost entirely of friends and businesses partners of the CEO; which jointly, are looking for one thing and one thing alone: grow as fast as possible without considering the consequences, in order to get as much hype and the most amount of financial investors in the shortest time, so they can go public. And then... it will be somebody else's problem. At this moment, the main chunk of the labor force is working as hard as possible and sacrificing themselves to maintain the company's image and sustain it's uncontrolled growth. But eventually, they will collapse under the weight of the executive team's failures and bad decisions. This could have been one of those rare companies that come from time to time and bring a generational change. But the way it's being managed currently, it will just end up being another short-sighted money grabbing scheme.
