Pros

Benefits are quite good, catered lunch once a week, decent PTO

Cons

Low base salary for the role, terrible leadership, 100% a “fraternity-style” environment. If you’re not a part of the problem it’s remarkably lonely despite the hustle-&-bustle. If you have any semblance of a family or obligations with work, kiss them goodbye, if you can’t dedicate 100% of your time you will never succeed.

Pros

You can still make a pretty good wage here through perseverance and dedication, if you can put up with corporate B.S. that is.

Cons

Managers aren’t trained to even recruit here, my managers know very little about recruitment practices, and are more paper pushers. They send out reports, but provide little when it comes to recruiting expertise. I’ve been here a few years so know what I’m doing, feel bad for new people that are getting no direction at all. Managers are trying to lean on senior consultants quite a bit.

Pros

As a result of the extreme mental stress management puts you through, you end up forming some pretty tight bonds with your co-workers.

Cons

It’s amazes me that the hr person responding to reviews ignores the consistent theme that management forces sales associates to perform 20-30 hours of unpaid overtime a week. Instead of acknowledging it and asking the question, are we living up to our core value of people first, they applaud the reviewers who have made the sacrifice and sweep it under the rug with general statements like “it’s a hard job”. Why not ask yourselves “can we do better” to ensure our employees aren’t carrying this tremendous stress of meeting unrealistic kpis. There’s a pretty simple solution here. Reduce the amount of mangers you have overseeing kpi’s and berating employees for not meeting them. For every employee you have at least 3 levels of management whose main focus is watching their numbers. That’s pretty wasteful. Refocus your lower levels of number watchers to sourcing leads to feed to sales associates. This isn’t rocket science. Ask yourself the question, what value does each level of mgmt provide and how can they effectively add value to success. It’s time to re-examine yourselves, your processes and identity the waste.
